EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Brokerage Hosts Another In-House Telethon for Easter Seals

Easter Seals has suffered over the past two years, not being able to host their telethon due to the COVID-19 pandemic. EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Brokerage held an in-house telethon again this year with associates making phone calls over a two-week period and raising money as a team to donate to this great cause.

“Easter Seals is a charity that we have supported strongly over the years, and it is nice that the funds raised remain within the local community. Helping families in need is something that we love to do,” said Melanie Mattila, administrator at EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Brokerage in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Melanie and the team at EXIT Realty Lake Superior, Brokerage hoped to raise $3,000, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they exceeded their goal and raised $5,000 for a total donation of $8,000 to Easter Seals.

“On behalf of Easter Seals Ontario, I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous support. We are deeply grateful for every contribution; however, your support is particularly meaningful and appreciated this year. With the cancellation of so many of our fundraising events due to COVID-19, Easter Seals’ revenue has been drastically impacted. As a result, we have had to put children on a wait list for vital mobility and accessibility equipment,” said Carolyn Bunting O’Connor, Development Office with Easter Seals Ontario. “During the pandemic, Easter Seals children and families have also been facing incredible challenges. Children with physical disabilities are extremely vulnerable to contracting the virus due to their compromised immune system. Consequently, they are isolated at home, making having the necessary mobility and accessibility equipment even more critical. With this tremendous contribution, you are helping to alleviate some of the burden for these families. Your donation will enable us to provide families with funding for vital equipment that will not only allow their children to live safely in their homes, but will also provide them with greater independence, dignity and quality of life.”
