EXIT Realty Vision, Brokerage Hosts Bottle Drive in Support of Local Hospital Emergency Wing

By Wendy Ronberg, Broker Owner of EXIT Realty Vision, Brokerage in Carleton Place, Ontario

The Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) is at the heart of the growing community of Carleton Place. The Hospital has in recent years struggled to meet the needs of the growing community and its surrounding areas. The hospital has begun planning and raising funds for a new emergency wing. We feel that as a real estate brokerage in this community helping many new people call Carleton Place home, we should be actively helping to make improvements that will better serve our clients.

The agents from the EXIT Realty Vision, Brokerage collected bottles in three different ways. We went out into the neighborhoods and introduced ourselves and talked about the new emergency wing. We collected any donations at that time. We also had a bottle drop off at the office and put up our tent and asked for donations at the Beer Store on two Saturdays.

By supporting the Hospital, we are actively supporting the growing community’s needs. Currently, the existing ER is under equipped to service the booming growth that Carleton Place and the surrounding area is experiencing. Currently, CPDMH requires more than 100 pieces of patient care equipment totaling approximately $2 Million. Individual pieces of life-saving equipment can range from $2,500 to $200,000 each. This equipment will be used throughout the hospital, including in the new Emergency Department. Many people are surprised to learn that the provincial government does not fund medical equipment for hospitals. That is where our campaign comes in. Together, we will ensure that the amazing CPDMH team has the tools they need to care for you. Patient care equipment will enhance care throughout the hospital.

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Wendy and her team raised $785.40 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $1,570.80 to Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation.

EXIT Realty Vision would like to thank everyone who contributed to our bottle drive in support of the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital. Through the hard work of our agents and your collaboration, we were able to collect more than 15,000 bottles and cans, raising $785.40 towards the development of a new emergency department and the purchase of much-needed patient care equipment.

As recent times have demonstrated, the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital is an indispensable resource, providing around-the-clock care and support to our community when we need it most. It was an honour for us here at EXIT Realty Vision to be able to support such a vital component of our community. It was awe-inspiring to see support for this initiative from every level. We can not express enough gratitude for the inspirational show of support, generosity, and unity we have seen during this drive, and it is our privilege to call this community our own. “We are grateful to you and your team at EXIT Realty Vision for your support of the CPDMH through your fundraising initiative. Our hospital is known in the community for providing exceptional quality care close to home. Bringing comfort and providing safe equipment to those who are in our care is essential. Thank you again for your kindness in hosting a fundraising event for the Healthy Futures Together! Capital Campaign,“ said Alison Luna, Donor Engagement & Communications Officer with CPDMH.
