Laura Rossi, sales representative with EXIT Realty Results in Sussex, WI and the rest of the team within the office chose to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern WI (RMHC). The house was built in 1984 to offer families with children being treated at Children’s Wisconsin and nearby hospitals a place to stay at little to no cost.
“I am a long-standing member of various committees and a supporter of RMHC,” explains Laura, “I host a yearly gift giving fundraiser with co-workers, friends, and family to contribute to the house’s “magic room”, a special space for all children to choose a gift from when they arrive at the house.”
This year RMHC was looking into an expansion project to add rooms for families to stay while receiving care, as well as the addition of more kitchens and gathering spaces to meet the needs of sick children and their families. The project is estimated to cost roughly $2 to $3 million dollars to complete so Laura and the team were raising funds via raffles, Venmo and a Facebook fundraising page with all funds going towards that expansion.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Laura and the team raised $5,000, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $10,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern WI.
“Your generous pledge payment will allow us to expand our House and provide additional comfortable, well-designed rooms for families who will stay with us for 60 days or more. Thanks to your gift, children will be able to let their imaginations run wild in a big, bright new playroom and enjoy comforting meals with their families in a beautiful new kitchen. Your generosity makes it possible for us to keep families together when they need it most,” said Ann Petrie, President/CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern WI.
