Relay for Life is a community-based fundraising initiative of the American Cancer Society and in Crossville, Tennessee the real estate professionals at EXIT Rocky Top Realty have been passionate supporters since 2006. This year, the company (which has seven locations in the area) held a variety of fundraising events over approximately three months including a Celebrity Waiter Event, building up to the annual Relay for Life Celebration held in downtown Crossville.
“Several of our team members and their families have walked laps all night symbolizing ‘cancer never sleeps’. We are so passionate about helping to find a cure,” said Jill Parham, Broker of Record at EXIT Rocky Top Realty Cookeville.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Through the dedicated efforts of its agents, EXIT Rocky Top Realty raised $3,000 and made a request to EXIT Realty Corp. International to match those funds for a total donation to the American Cancer Society of $6,000.
“Each year we sell luminaria in honor of cancer survivors and in memory of loved ones who fought the good fight. It is a very solemn and emotionally moving event,” continued Parham. “Every EXIT Rocky Top Realty Relay for Life team member has someone who has personally been affected by cancer. We are determined that a cancer diagnosis doesn’t have to be a death sentence.”
