The award-winning team at EXIT Lakes Realty Premier in Minnesota shared how they raised money during their own Spirit of Affordable Housing initiative in support of Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity.
We collected donations from clients, friends and family, and other community members to help support our local Habitat for Humanity. We feel called to support this wonderful non-profit in our area as they work tremendously hard to provide affordable homes for families in need.
We broke our office into two teams who each collected funds. We also collected funds from our Annual Oktoberfest. Chad Schwendeman, our Franchisee/Owner, made his own donations. Every three weeks, the teams competed in a fun game to “win” his donations as part of their total. At the end of the fundraising time, the winning team was treated to a wonderful meal at one of our local restaurants.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. Chad and the rest of the EXIT team hoped to raise $10,000 which EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match, but they sailed past that number, coming in at $17,000 for a total donation to Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity of $27,000.
