“The goal was to raise as much funding as possible so we can sponsor inclusive, autism-friendly events at no cost to families,” tells Karina Mermis, sales representative with EXIT Realty Edge in Patchogue, NY, why she chose to support Nassau Suffolk Autism Society of America (NSASA).
NSASA is a non-profit organization serving families on Long Island, NY. They are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces where individuals with autism and their families feel welcome with a goal to build a community rooted in compassion and understanding.
“My son has autism and as a parent, I see firsthand both the challenges and the incredible strengths within the autism community,” Karina says.
Money was raised to help address the issues of accessibility many families face due to financial strain, sensory concerns, or lack of autism-friendly options. Through ticket sales for the event as well as raffles, she was able to raise an astounding $17,582.20. EXIT Realty Corp. International donated an additional $3,000 for a total of $20,582.20 to NSASA.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
