“We chose this charity to give back to the homeless community and honour AJ’s legacy and the efforts he always put forward to help those less fortunate,” tells Jennifer Britain, with EXIT Realty Matrix, Brokerage in Embrun, ON, “Being in the business of helping buy and sell homes makes it an easy choice to give back to those in need of housing.” The Tessier Team, with EXIT Realty Matrix, chose to support the AJ Commemorative Fund through the Ottawa Community Foundation.
This fund helps individuals experiencing homelessness take greater control of their lives by providing essential support, encouraging autonomy and building self-confidence, and facilitating long term reintegration.
“The event brought together community members, clients, family and friends for a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and meaningful remembrance. Despite a few raindrops, the tournament was a huge success with players hitting hard on the field, sharing stories about AJ, and even dancing between innings. Having Chantal Plant and two of her kids attend and see the support and love for AJ so present throughout the day made it all so much better,” Jennifer tells.
The softball tournament raised funds through player registration, 50/50 raffles and other small games. The spirit of giving was stronger than ever, making 2025 the best year yet. With generous support they were able to raise an incredible $3,745, and with EXIT Realty Corp. International’s $3,000 in additional funds, the total donation was $6,745 to the AJ Plant Commemorative Fund.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT Realty Corp. International to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds.
