The agents at EXIT Real Estate Professionals in Spokane, Washington, set aside funds from their closings which they earmark to make a difference in the community, and then they decide collectively which local charities will benefit. In 2018, they chose Transitions, an organization working to end poverty and homelessness for women and children in Spokane and Union Gospel Mission which serves individuals in need of food, clothing and shelter through the Men’s Mission and Ogden Hall for women and children.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. The funds set aside by the agents of EXIT Real Estate Professionals totaled $3,600, which EXIT Realty Corp. International proudly matched for a total donation split between Transitions and Union Gospel Mission of $7,200.
Edie Rice-Sauer, Executive Director of Transitions, said, “Change is difficult, but change is absolutely necessary. Without it, our participants wouldn’t get away from violence, nor stand up to addition, nor do whatever is necessary to reunify their families. You and your investment make change possible for so many women and their families.”
