“I wanted to help raise money because of the incredible support they provide to families throughout the Hudson Valley that are affected by cancer,” tells Jenn Tomlins, Sales Associate with EXIT Realty Connections in Wappingers Falls, NY of why she chose Sparrow’s Nest of the Hudson Valley for her fundraising initiative.
The volunteers prepare and deliver fresh, homemade meals each week. They also extend support to caregivers and families, ensuring they receive the assistance they need. In addition, their supplemental food program provides groceries to low income and at-risk families, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing cancer-related challenges.
The fundraiser was a softball tournament where the cost to participate was $600 per team. Jenn was part of an 8-person co-ed team that paid the participation fee as well as raised money through word of mouth and Facebook.
“Thank you for your generous donation. Because of you, people facing cancer can focus on healing while we handle the meals. We are grateful for your support,” said Beth Grommisch, Financial Director, Sparrow’s Nest of the Hudson Valley.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match the $2,450 raised by Jenn and her team for a total donation of $4,900 to Sparrow’s Nest of the Hudson Valley.
