John Beltramea, Broker/Owner, and the team at EXIT Eastern Iowa Real Estate are passionate about providing beds for children in need. “Here in Linn County there are between three and five thousand kids who need beds,” he told EXIT Realty Corp. International. “In this area, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has only been in operation for the last two years. Last year they were able to make and deliver beds for 140 kids. In 2019, the goal is to come up with beds for 1,000 kids. EXIT Eastern Iowa Real Estate donated a day to actually making twenty beds, six of which went to a family who lost their home in a fire, and two went to foster children.”
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pledged pool of funds. The EXIT team hoped to raise $3,000 which EXIT Realty Corp. International was proud to match, but their efforts nudged past their expectations for a total donation to Sleep in Heavenly Peace of $6,002.25.
“Your group’s donation was utilized to help Sleep in Heavenly Peace and its mission,” said Mark Conzett, President of the organization’s IA-Cedar Rapids Marion County Chapter. “Your donation was used to purchase lumber, mattresses and bedding so that we could build and deliver beds to those children in need within our community.”
