Third Time’s a Charm for Have A Heart in Utah with the Spirit of EXIT

“In 2014, my husband Juston, was diagnosed with cancer. That year he was the recipient of Have a Heart’s fundraiser and I have been involved every year since to give back,” says Stephanie Dickson.  Stephanie, a sales associate at EXIT Realty Advantage in Marriott-Slaterville, UT, and her fellow EXIT professionals recently supported Have a Heart’s  9th Annual 5k Fun Run Fundraiser. Have a Heart is a nonprofit that began as a service project through the Northern Wasatch Association of REALTORS® that assists those with special needs and circumstances.

Stephanie and the team raised money through raffles, sponsors and ticket sales for the 5k Fun Run with all proceeds going to the recipient through the charity. They promoted the initiative via social media, email, and within their local board.

“Every year we are able to give back to the community along with Women’s Council of REALTORS® and Have A Heart. This year Dave Bartlett was our recipient, and he is so deserving of this fund raiser,” said Stephanie.  “Dave has a rare form of brain cancer that they found after he had a stroke. He lives in an assisted living center, and they are just the nicest family ever! When we started reviewing applications in the spring of 2020 we were all drawn to Dave because generally when someone did a fundraiser for him he would give the money to someone else who he felt needed it more. Shara, his wife, has taken on multiple jobs over the last year-and-a-half to keep things going and we were just so excited to be able to make a difference in their lives.”

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Stephanie and the EXIT team hoped to raise $5,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however they raised $7,510 for a total donation of $12,510 to Have a Heart.  This is the third time the Spirit of EXIT has supported Stephanie and the team in their Have A Heart fundraisers.

“Kevin Kilpatrick (Broker/Owner of EXIT Realty Success and EXIT Realty Advantage) is always a great example to the agents in his offices,” said Stephanie.  “The agents are always willing to give and see how rewarding it is! Thank you to the Spirit of EXIT and the opportunity we have to give back and make a difference in the recipient’s life!”
