After a devastating loss it can be difficult to know what to do next. Many are left feeling as though words are not enough; they need to take action. Jeff Gordon, Broker/Owner of EXIT Assurance Realty in Groton, MA was left with this same feeling, so he and his team of professionals chose to support Sarah’s Village. Sarah’s Village is a Massachusetts-based organization that works to promote wellness, eliminate the stigma that so often comes with mental illness, and reduce the rate of suicide between the ages 13 and 24.
“The daughter of one of my best friends very unexpectedly died by suicide. I wanted to help him, his wife, and the non-profit organization they created to erase the societal stigmatism of mental health conditions so that at least one person will feel comfortable enough to divulge their feelings and seek help,” Jeff explains. He and his team donated from their commission for a five-month period in 2021.
A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Jeff and his team contributed $856.80 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match for a total donation of $1713.60 to Sarah’s Village.
