Stacy Wilson and the Spirit of EXIT Make an Impact on the Lives of Aged-Out Foster Youth

Stacy Wilson, sales representative with EXIT Real Estate Results in Altamonte Springs, FL started a GoFundMe to raise money for Foster Youth of America (FYA). “The work that they have been doing for years is incredible. They are meeting a need that is often overlooked and underfunded. They are standing in the gap, not just in word, but in deed, providing mental, emotional, and practical support for those who may otherwise feel unloved, abandoned, and unimportant,” she explains.

“The sole purpose of this group is to help foster youth who have aged out of the foster care system with things like furniture, household supplies, bikes, interview clothing, food, clothes, computers for college and other household and educational necessities their first few years of adulthood,” said Misty Miotto, Founder and Board Chair of FYA. “As the founder and director Foster Youth of America, I see several children age out of the foster care system every year without ever finding their forever family many of which are scared and feel alone and do not have the normal support system that most teens get when they reach adulthood. Our goal is to help wrap around our Aged Out Youth in their first few years of them aging out.”

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. Stacy hoped to raise $10,000 which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, however she exceeded her goal and raised $10,595 for a total donation of $20,595 to FYA.

“Thank you EXIT Realty for matching the donations raised by Stacy Wilson. FYA plans on using the donated and matched funds to help with things like youth emergencies, monthly rent of our storage units where we accept used furniture items as well as bikes and clothing for our aged out foster youth and also to help pay for our upcoming conference called ELEVATION which is a completely free event for our Foster Youth. The conference will feature hands on interactive simulations designed to teach them useful life skills that they would not normally learn at school. The conference aims to teach our youth how to live more independent and successful lives. Thank you again for all of your support,” said Misty.
