The Jones Team Hard at Work to Raise Money and Awareness for Pulmonary Fibrosis

By Gina Cole, Sales Representative, EXIT Landmark Realty Lorton, VA

The Jones Team of EXIT Landmark Realty in White Plains, MD, consisting of six members, Anna Jones, Amber Cox, Summer Jongo, Lynn Moul, Tina White, and Emily Watts, partnered with a local non-profit, INOVA Fairfax Hospital & their Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, dedicated to the continuous education, awareness, and worked to raise funds to assist those impacted by the disease. INOVA Hospital is a non-profit based out of Virginia and their mission is to provide the community with many different programs.

The Jones Team is dedicated to and strives to make a difference in the local community. They committed to raise money for the INOVA Health Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. This effort was uniquely personal to the team since several team members have been affected by this disease and wanted to use their energy to help support this great cause. A key example was Nathan, Anna Jones’ husband, who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis last year. Prior to his diagnosis, Anna and her family had never heard of the disease and because of this, they are dedicated to creating and growing awareness.

The Jones Team set up multiple events to raise funds for the Pulmonary Fibrosis foundation including  a client appreciation event at The Blue Crabs Game (a local baseball team).

A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty Corp. International is applied to its charitable fund. Through the Spirit of EXIT Charitable Program, EXIT offices and associates can raise money for local, approved, registered charities and apply to EXIT’s head office to have those funds matched from the company’s pool of funds. The Jones Team raised $7,270, which EXIT’s head office was proud to match, for a total donation of $14,540 to INOVA Pulmonary Fibrosis Fund.

“Thank you for your support of the lnova Pulmonary Fibrosis Fund. It is because of generous supporters like your team that lnova has the ability to bring world-class healthcare to the Northern Virginia community,” said Megan Jenkins, Philanthropy Officer for INOVA Fairfax Medical Campus.

Editor’s note: We later learned that Nathan underwent a lung transplant and is in recovery.
